Estar\u00e1 ubicada exactamente en San Luis Potos\u00ed\u00a0por su\u00a0s\u00f3lida red de proveedores, la buena calificaci\u00f3n de los trabajadores locales, y\u00a0la infraestructura t\u00e9cnica y social. La nueva planta del BMW Group contar\u00e1 con las \u00e1reas de carrocer\u00eda, pintura y ensamble, todo manejado por tecnolog\u00eda de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n.\u00a0Contar\u00e1 adem\u00e1s con un innovador sistema de producci\u00f3n, sumado a\u00a0los est\u00e1ndares de sustentabilidad\u00a0m\u00e1s exigentes. Se espera as\u00ed que la planta se convierta en la m\u00e1s eficiente en todo el mundo en cuanto al tema de manejo de los recursos: el uso de fuentes de energ\u00eda renovables permitir\u00e1 a la planta un abastecimiento de energ\u00eda completamente libre de CO2, pues la electricidad se generar\u00e1 en una instalaci\u00f3n solar interna. Tambi\u00e9n habr\u00e1 un uso especial del agua buscando que no se generen aguas residuales en el proceso de pintura.\u00a0La planta estar\u00e1 dedicada a producir los veh\u00edculos de la serie 3 que hoy es considerada la m\u00e1s exitosa de la marca. Se espera estar iniciando la producci\u00f3n en el a\u00f1o 2019 con una capacidad anual de hasta 150.000 autos. Se busca que de esta manera la nueva planta pueda balancear el proceso de producci\u00f3n de aquella\u00a0en Rosslyn, Sud\u00e1frica,\u00a0que en el futuro fabricar\u00e1 la nueva X3 en lugar del sed\u00e1n Serie 3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La construcci\u00f3n de la\u00a0nueva planta de producci\u00f3n de BMW en M\u00e9xico ha sido tema de conversaci\u00f3n entre los conocedores y seguidores de la marca\u00a0en Colombia. Est\u00e1n quienes creen que la instalaci\u00f3n de la planta traer\u00e1 beneficios para el pa\u00eds,\u00a0esperando que se popularice el Serie 3 a partir de su nuevo precio sin aranceles. Est\u00e1n tambi\u00e9n quienes aseguran que\u00a0<em>la estrategia de precios se traza desde Alemania, independientemente del pa\u00eds de destino, de manera que no variar\u00e1n los precios para ning\u00fan pa\u00eds en la regi\u00f3n <\/em>(El Tiempo).\u00a0Fernando Vargas, presidente del Club BMW Cl\u00e1sicos Colombia, \u00a0da su opini\u00f3n:\u00a0<em>La nueva planta en M\u00e9xico traer\u00e1 beneficios arancelarios y reducci\u00f3n de precios de los modelos que se\u00a0ensamblen all\u00ed, respecto a importarlos desde Alemania. Ser\u00e1 muy beneficioso para aquellos que busquen adquirir un BMW nuevo. Sin embargo, los BMW que se ensamblan fuera de las plantas en Alemania, se env\u00edan como paquetes CKD (Completely\u00a0Knock Down). Estos kits no vienen 100% con partes de Alemania, pues tambi\u00e9n se espera que en el pa\u00eds donde se ensamblan produzcan algunas partes tales como vidrios, tapicer\u00eda, rines y bater\u00edas, entre otras. Esto con el objetivo de\u00a0reducir a\u00fan m\u00e1s el costo de venta de esos nuevos BMW para la regi\u00f3n. Ya no ser\u00e1n BMW 100% alemanes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La construcci\u00f3n de la planta en M\u00e9xico es un tema que a la larga termina siendo nulo. Generalmente ha existido\u00a0un gran escepticismo frente a la manufactura que se realiza por fuera de Alemania. Es por ello que en este caso particular podemos confiar con\u00a0que la mano de obra mexicana dar\u00e1 la talla para\u00a0respaldar el nombre mundial del BMW Group, pues esto ser\u00eda lo m\u00ednimo por esperar. En cuanto a los beneficios para el mercado latino, no se esperan demasiados. Lo m\u00e1s probable es que el precio de los autos no sea menor que el actual, pues eso ya es un tema de posicionamiento y competencia directa con Mercedes Benz y Audi. Es probable incluso que esta nueva planta no ayude tan siquiera a agilizar los despachos hacia Colombia, pues desde all\u00ed deben\u00a0estar complementando la oferta para Estados\u00a0Unidos y Canad\u00e1.
