Existen varias personas apasionadas por el tema que dedican su dinero y tiempo para devolver estas fabulosas m\u00e1quinas al mejor estado posible. Incluso se ha vuelto com\u00fan que las mismas f\u00e1bricas busquen revivir algunos \u00edconos que alguna vez fueron protagonistas de sus \u00e9pocas. Este es el caso del BMW 507 Roadster de Elvis Presley.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El descapotable que\u00a0ven\u00eda con un motor V8 de 3.2 litros y 155 CV fue dise\u00f1ado por Albrecht Graf Goertz destinado para el mercado estadounidense. BMW\u00a0present\u00f3 el carro frente a diferentes personalidades como el rey Balduino de B\u00e9lgica y el entonces rey del rock Elvis Presley.\u00a0Siendo un muchacho de tan solo 23 a\u00f1os, Elvis se encontraba prestando el servicio militar en la Tercera Divisi\u00f3n Acorazada del ej\u00e9rcito de los Estados Unidos en Bad Nauhiem, Alemania occidental. Era un deportivo blanco que pod\u00eda ser reconocido con gran facilidad. Las admiradoras\u00a0del rey del rock sol\u00edan escribir sus direcciones en la parte lateral del coche utilizando los pinta labios. Lo que al principio fue algo gracioso termin\u00f3 por cansar al propietario del auto que finalmente decidi\u00f3 por cambiarle el color a rojo. Finalizado el servicio militar el ej\u00e9rcito transport\u00f3 el auto para los Estados Unidos. Perteneci\u00f3 a Elvis hasta el a\u00f1o 1960.\u00a0El deterioro del veh\u00edculo fue imparable. Se le perdi\u00f3 la pista pero fue visto nuevamente en 1968 en el galp\u00f3n de Jack Castor, un ingeniero aeron\u00e1utico. Despu\u00e9s de exhibirlo durante unas semanas empez\u00f3 el trabajo de restauraci\u00f3n. Aunque el motor hab\u00eda sido cambiado por un bloque V8 Chevrolet, el trabajo se realiz\u00f3 a cabalidad. Todas las piezas fueron revisadas y recuperadas. Incluso las partes ya inexistentes como las manijas de las puertas fueron reconstruidas a partir de una impresora 3D. El color original, <em>feather white<\/em>, regres\u00f3\u00a0a la carrocer\u00eda.
